At Home with Sabrina: My Spring Porch

I’ve been working on my front porch for a little bit now, and I’m finally at a point where I’m really loving it 🤍
I wouldn’t say it’s 100% finished (is it ever?), but this is where I’ve gotten so far—and I wanted to share it because I truly love spending time out here.

The vision
When I started, I knew a few things I wanted right away:
I wanted to add curtains I wanted something a little different and unique And I wanted it to feel cozy enough that I’d actually use the space
I love sitting out here, especially in the evenings with everything lit… so that really drove a lot of my decisions.

The color palette
I kept everything pretty simple and clean:
Black White / cream Green And a soft touch of pink
I didn’t want anything too busy, just something that flowed well and felt calm.

Let’s talk about the TV for a second…
Okay… I know a TV on a porch isn’t the most “designer” thing 😂
But I’ll be honest—I love it.
We’ll sit out here, put something on, light the candles, and just relax. That’s what this space is for.
I did put it on a rolling stand so it can easily be moved or tucked away if I want a cleaner look.
So if you’re thinking about adding one… do it. Make your space work for you.

Why I used all faux florals
Everything out here is faux—from the hydrangeas to the greenery.
And honestly, that was intentional.
We’re gone a lot in the summer with ball, and I didn’t want to come home to dead plants or feel like I had to keep up with watering everything.

This way:
It always looks full It always looks fresh And it’s low maintenance
And with the quality of faux florals now… they really do look real.

What made the biggest difference
1. Curtains
This completely changed the space.
It made the porch feel like an actual room instead of just an outdoor area.
2. Mixing heights
This is something I always think about.
Tall pieces (trees, stems) Medium (chairs, lanterns) Low (candles, trays)
That variation is what makes everything feel styled instead of flat.
3. Grouping in odd numbers
I almost always decorate in 3s.
Candles, decor, florals—it just looks more natural and balanced.

4. Layering textures
Rugs, pillows, greenery, wood, metal…
Mixing those materials keeps everything from feeling boring.
5. Lighting
Candles are a must for me.
That soft glow at night is what makes it feel cozy and inviting.
How I actually put it together
I usually start with a vision in my head… and then just start placing things.
And honestly—sometimes it doesn’t work the first time.
So I’ll move things around, try different spots, and keep adjusting until it feels right.
There’s no perfect formula… you just have to play with it.

Still a work in progress
I do want to add a couple more things over the next month or so, but for now, this is where it’s at—and I’m really happy with it.
If you’re working on your porch…
Don’t overthink it.
Start with a feeling you want:
Cozy? Clean? Colorful?
Then build from there.
And if you need help pulling it together, feel free to message me—I love helping with spaces like this 🤍
Tell me… would you sit out here?
XOXO, Sabrina
