Home for the Holidays: A Christmas Tour of My Home
I didn’t grow up as the little girl who dreamed of a big wedding day.
Growing up, we moved often. Home was never one fixed place… and because of that, my dream was never about an event. It was about a feeling. I dreamed of a home. A place that felt steady, safe, and grounding.
That longing is what first sparked my love for home décor. Decorating, for me, isn’t about following trends or making things perfect it’s about creating spaces that invite people in, hold memories, and feel lived in and loved. It’s the same heart I bring into MC Home & Co every day: helping customers create those meaningful moments in their own homes, spaces their families will always want to return to.

At Christmas, home isn’t just where we decorate … it’s where memories are made
As I decorate for Christmas, I love letting each room have its own mood, a feeling that fits how the space is used, while still flowing together as one home.
That sets the stage without ever mentioning color or themes outright.

This space is the heart of our home at Christmas. It’s where we gather, slow down, and simply enjoy being together. I wanted the living room to feel warm and grounded, layered with greenery, soft textures, and a glow that invites you to sit a little longer.

The fireplace anchors the room, dressed simply with natural looking greens. It’s a space designed for connection — for quiet mornings, cozy evenings, and the kind of memories that last through the winter season.

I kept the living room feeling calm and grounded, using softer elements and natural textures to make it a space you want to linger in.

The Sunroom (light and airy)

My sunroom is one of my favorite spaces in our home, especially during the holidays. I’ve always loved rooms that feel peaceful and welcoming, and this space is designed to do exactly that.. let the light in and allow everything else to feel soft and effortless.
I keep the color palette simple and intentional. The blue walls set a calm foundation, so I lean into white Christmas décor to keep the room feeling open rather than heavy. White/Silver trees, neutral textures, and subtle holiday accents reflect natural light and help the space stay bright, even on gray winter days.

To balance the whites, I add lighter greens.. think soft garlands, gentle greenery, and touches that feel natural instead of overdone. The greens warm up the room just enough while still keeping that fresh, airy look I love. Nothing too dark, nothing too busy, just layers that feel easy and peaceful.

This room isn’t about perfection or trends. It’s about creating a space that feels calm, cozy, and lived in. A place to sip coffee in the morning, read in the afternoon, or simply sit and enjoy the quiet of the season.
The Bedroom (my favorite space)

The bedroom has always been one of my most favorite spaces in our home. It’s the one place that isn’t meant for entertaining, multitasking, or rushing through, it’s where the day ends and rest begins.
I leaned into warm browns and soft, neutral tones for this room. These colors instantly create a sense of calm and grounding, which is exactly how I want to feel when I walk in at night. Nothing loud. Nothing busy. Just warmth, balance, and comfort.

This is the space where I reset… where I rest, recharge, and start fresh again in the morning. When I climb into bed, I want to feel good, cozy, and at ease. Creating a bedroom that supports rest isn’t about perfection; it’s about choosing colors, textures, and pieces that make you feel comfortable and cared for.
For me, this room is a reminder that rest matters..and the way your home feels plays a big role in that.

The dining room

Here, I allowed the décor to feel a little richer, setting the tone for gatherings, shared meals, and holiday traditions.

The dining room is where I allowed myself to add a little more warmth and richness. While much of our home leans neutral, this space felt like the perfect place to introduce touches of red….nothing overwhelming, just enough to add depth and character.
Red brings a sense of warmth and gathering. It feels inviting, especially in a room meant for shared meals, conversations, and slow moments around the table. Paired with layered textures and softer tones, it adds interest without overpowering the space.

I love keeping the dining room styled but livable. It’s not meant to feel stiff or overly formal…it should feel welcoming, comfortable, and ready to be used. Candlelight, greenery, and intentional accents help create an atmosphere that feels cozy yet elevated.
The Front porch

For the front porch, I wanted to create something that would carry us beyond Christmas…a space that still feels seasonal, cozy, and welcoming long after the holiday décor comes down. I leaned into a true winter scene, focusing on greenery, soft lighting, and layered trees rather than bold holiday color.

Lighting was key here. Warm lights woven through garlands, trees, and accents instantly make the porch feel inviting, especially in the early evenings. There’s something about a softly lit porch that sets the tone before you even walk inside…it feels peaceful and intentional.

This porch is meant to feel like a pause—a quiet moment at the front of the house. A place that welcomes you home, slows you down, and reminds you that winter can be just as beautiful after the holidays have passed.
